Youth and adolescent suicide continue to be an area of risk in which we are gaining more awareness. By gaining knowledge of how suicide ideation may present and how to respond, one can avoid escalating the risk and help the adolescent get connected to care. A caring voice and someone who responds in the way an adolescent is seeking can save a life. It is a tough topic, but one that is very much needed to be addressed head on.
This presentation will provide a clear understanding of the unique presentation of youth suicide ideation, explain the developmental state of the adolescent brain and how it affects the presentation of suicide ideation, provide specific risk factors for adolescent/ youth suicide, and provide effective techniques in responding to those at risk.
**1 free social work CEU will be given to attendees**
Lunch and Learn will be presented online via Zoom platform.
